Lamp Test and Lamp Status

This is a great reactor modification that interfaces with the CXE Control Console.

The excerpt below is from the “Help” manual that is available on the CXE console screen. This not only describes the Lamp Status option, it also demonstrates the versatility of the software.

Module and Lamp Animation

Each Lamp Module and Lamp is represented as an animation. If an individual lamp has been reported as good, that lamp will have a “Pass” remark inside it. In addition, if a lamp has a current passing to it above the detection level, it will be represented in a bright red color. If a lamp has no current passing to it or is below the detection level, it will be represented in a dark red color. In addition, if during an Auto Lamp Test or during a process run, a lamp is determined to be bad, the color of the lamp will turn to a gray color and have a “Fail” remark inside it.

TZ, CZ, BZ Test SP

These Setpoints are used for two purposes. First, during an Auto IR Lamp Test they act as the Percent power output used during the lamp test. In addition, the same setpoints are used during an auto process run as the “trip point” that the IR Lamp Detect circuits will start looking for failed lamps.

During an Auto IR Lamp Test, the lamps will be checked once every 6 seconds for a lamp fail indication after the SCR pack Softstart is complete. If a lamp fail is detected it will be reported at the end of the Auto IR Lamp Test (1 minute cycle).

During an Auto Process, the lamps will be checked after a 1 ½ minute delay for SCR Pack Soft Start and then if the % power to each individual zone % power setpoint is equal to or above the zone test setpoint mentioned above. When both these conditions are met, the lamps will be checked and reported once every 6 seconds.

Start Auto IR Lamp Test

Selecting this button starts an auto IR Lamp Test cycle. After Selecting this button, all the lamps will be reset to a “Pass” status and the Lamp test will start. The button at this time will change to “Stop Auto IR Lamp Test” during the lamp test cycle. Selecting this button during a lamp test cycle will stop the lamp test cycle. All lamps will indicate a “Pass” status due to the Lamp test being terminated prior to the end of its normal cycle.

Lamp Test Alarming

Selecting Enable activates the display and actions listed below in “Lamp Test Fail Indications”. Selecting Disable inhibits all warnings and alarms listed.

Lamp Test Fail Indications

The following alarms and warnings are generated by the lamp fail detect cycle.

Warning, Lamp Fail - Generated on an individual lamp fail, Sonalert is activated. Warning message.

Warning, Address Scan not Detected – If the address scan bits are not detected. Normally caused by a disconnected cable or other malfunction. Sonalert activated. Warning message.

Alarm, Module Fail - Too many lamps in a module have failed indicating an unplugged lamp module.
Sonalert is activated, Alarm message, and any auto process running is aborted.

Alarm, Zone Fail – Too many lamps in a zone have failed indicating a bad SCR pack.
Sonalert is activated, Alarm message, and any auto process running is aborted
